Full Time Support Workers / Carers required in the Blackburn area

We have an opportunity for Support Workers / Carers to join a new specialist care team.  You will be assisting a gentleman who has a high level spinal cord injury resulting in the need for 24 hour care. This gentleman lives in his family home with his wife and son in the Blackburn area.

The role:

• Provide all aspects of personal care, including bowel and bladder care.
• Assist with all activities including moving and handling and therapies.
• Accompany the gentleman on holiday and to social outings.
• To provide light domestic duties.

About You:

• The right candidates must be reliable, dedicated and focused on looking after this gentleman.
• You will be trustworthy flexible, motivated, and committed.
• A full, manual driving license is essential.
• You must be comfortable around dogs. There are five dogs in the home and their care is provided by the family.

Shift Patterns:

You will be working primarily day shifts with occasional night shifts.

• 12 hour Day Shifts (0800-2000) and 12 hour Waking Night Shifts (2000-0800)
• You will be working within a team providing care and support all year round, including weekends and bank holidays.
• You must be flexible to work both Day and Waking Night Shifts.
