Part Time Support Worker/Carer Required Near Rutland Water for 20 hours per week

We an opportunity for a Support Worker/ Carer to join a specialist care team in a village near Rutland Water. You will be supporting a lady who has Multiple Sclerosis and is living with her family in her own home. This lady is wheelchair dependent and unable to verbally communicate.

The Role:

  • All aspects of personal care are required including washing, oral hygiene, showering and dressing
  • Continence Care
  • Medication Administration
  • PEG feeding
  • Accompanying the lady on hospital appointments, to therapies, and on family outings.
  • Domestic tasks and food preparation

About you:

  • The right candidates will be kind, calm, patient and empathetic with a happy disposition and a good sense of humour. This should be combined with the ability to work well as a team player, but also the ability to work alone and use initiative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Flexibility and reliability are essential as you will be working within a small team.
  • A manual driving licence is required, and you must be willing to drive the lady’s own vehicle.

Shift Pattern:

  • You must be able to work a combination of all shifts; Day shifts of between 8 to 12.5 hours, Double up shifts 0830-1130. Occasional sleepover shifts may also be required
  • You will be working within a small team providing care and support all year round, including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
