Part Time Carer/Support Worker Required in a Village Near Oakham

An opportunity has arisen for a part time Support Worker to join an established, specialist care team. You would be required to support a lady who has an acquired brain injury and is living in her own home in a small village in the Oakham area.

The Role:

  • This is a rehabilitation-based support role. You will accompany this lady to her volunteer placement, to appointments, on family days out, attending therapies, and to social activities such as; sailing, swimming, shopping. She lives an active life and you will assist her in achieving as much independence as she can.
  • Support with household tasks, food preparation and baking.

Shift Pattern:

  • 20 hours per week on average. Working a combination of 12 hour day shift 0800 -2000, and overnight shift 2000-0800 which includes a sleepover
  • Shifts are allocated on a rota basis, this will include working every other weekend and some bank holiday working. You will be joining a small team who provide 24/7 support, and therefore flexibility and team work are essential.

About You:  

  • We are looking for caring, kind, flexible, reliable, approachable and patient people who can work well as a team as well as independently; combined with a good sense of humour and enjoyment spending time with children.
  • You must hold a full manual driving licence and be a confident driver who is willing to drive the lady’s own vehicle.
  • You must be comfortable around cats as the lady has a pet cat within the home.
