Full and Part time Personal Care Assistants required in the Brighton area

We are recruiting Personal Care Assistants/ Carers to join a specialist team in supporting our client who is undertaking a degree in Fashion Communication with Business at Brighton University. This role is varied; you will be supporting attendance at University and all aspects of Uni life. Our client has a physical disability (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) and she wants to make the most of her time at University. She takes great pride in her appearance; and likes fashion blogging, YouTube and socialising.

During term time she will be living in halls of residence in Brighton where you will support her. During student holidays and occasional weekends she will spend time at her family home in Harlow, the team will also be required to support these trips.

The Role:

  • Providing personal care, medication administration and therapy assistance
  • Support in social activities and accompanying this lady on holidays
  • Assisting with domestic tasks and food preparation

About You:

  • You must be friendly, flexible, and reliable. You will have a respectful attitude; combined with being able to take direction whilst still recognising when to use your own initiative, or when to take a step back.
  • A full driving licence is essential.
  • You must be prepared to travel to Harlow during holidays and occasional weekends, for family home visits. Travel expenses will be paid to Harlow.
  • Previous care experience would be advantageous, but not essential as full specialist training will be given.

Shift Pattern:

  • Working a combination of shifts including:-
  • Day shifts, waking nights, day shift plus sleepover
  • Double up shifts (morning and evening)
  • You will be working within a small team providing care and support all year round, including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis

About us: TCC provide specialist care teams for individuals who live within their own homes. Our client base is varied and includes Spinal Cord Injury, Acquired Brain Injury and other Neurological Conditions.
